Penelope "Penny" Windle Obituary

Penelope J. “Penny” Windle passed away peacefully on January 27, 2026 at the age of 82. She was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose spunky personality will be missed by all who knew her.
Penny was preceded in death by her parents, David and Dorothy Renner; her daughter, Robin Renner; her grandson, Tyler Renner; and her daughter-in-law, Ashley Windle.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Tim Wilson, Julie (Shane) Windle, Michael Windle, and Amber Windle; her grandchildren, Megan (Darin) Windle and Brian (Morgan) Windle; and her great-grandchildren, Trevor, Savannah, Brighten, and Bentley. Penny also held dear her special lunch friends—Mike, Lenny, Dick, and Kim and her fur babies—who brought her much joy and companionship. Penny worked for Children’s Services hosting many foster children in her home over the years.
Penny retired from Washington Local Schools, where she proudly worked for many years as a school bus driver. After retirement, she continued to care for others by working part-time at JCC of Sylvania as a driver and Safeguard as a patient sitter in local hospitals.
In her leisure time, Penny loved camping at Sunny’s Campground, frequenting local casinos, stopping at any yard sale she seen, traveling, and—most of all—spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She especially treasured her evening ice-cream trips with Savannah and watching Trevor play football. Penny was an avid Elvis Presley fan and never missed a chance to tell anyone who would listen that Elvis was still alive.
The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the compassionate staff of St. Anne’s Emergency Room and ICU for their excellent care, and to Dr. Mounir Elkhatib, Penny’s primary care physician for more than 50 years, for his dedication and kindness.
Per her wishes there will be no service.
